New immigration fees announced today for those coming to the UK to work, stay or study and for those applying to remain, will help ensure a fair and effective immigration system.
The joint announcement by the Home Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) follows the biggest shake-up of the UK's immigration system in its history last summer by the Home Secretary. The latest chapter in this process is the publication today of a cross-Government enforcement strategy backed by an expected £100 million extra for immigration policing to help block the benefits of Britain to those living in the UK illegally.
