House of Lords Judgment
Where the court, for the purpose of determining whether it was
required to order the return of a child under art 12 of the Hague
Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction
1980, as scheduled to the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985,
had obtained a ruling from the courts of the requesting state as
to whether the removal of the child had been wrongful within the
meaning of the Convention, that ruling was to be followed unless
clearly out of line with the international understanding of the
Convention's terms.
