Bar Council Chairman Article
This issue of COUNSEL provides me with a useful staging post at
which to  review progress on a number of issues, writes Stephen
Hockman QC  

At the beginning of the year I identified the key themes upon
which the Bar Council would be working.  First and foremost was
the need to ensure that the interests of the profession would be
appropriately protected as the process of legal services reform
gets underway following the Clementi Review.  Second was the need
to ensure that, in particular for the publicly funded Bar,
adequately resourced systems of remuneration would be put in
place.  Third was the need to preserve and enhance the profile of
the profession and the public’s understanding of its role.
