MOT Fees Due to Rise to Cover Garages' Costs
Department for Transport Press Release
20 October 2006
New MOT fees are due to come into force from 7th November 2006,
subject to Parliamentary approval, primarily to cover the rising
cost to garages of carrying out the test. From this date an MOT
for a car will cost a maximum of £50.35. The fee is a maximum
charge and many garages will continue to charge less than this.
The fee is not expected to be increased again until April 2008 at
the earliest.
