The Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) has agreed that
problems caused by the retrospective effect of new rules to open
up court files need to be rectified. In a case brought by the Law
Society, the High Court today declared that the old rules should
continue to apply to statements filed before 2 October 2006 until
the DCA introduces amendments into the new rules.
