Data Sharing Unjust?

Government Data-sharing Plans May Lead to Injustice
Law Society Press Release
30 October 2006
Allowing government departments, local authorities and private
companies to share more information about suspected fraudsters
could create misleading and damaging records, warns the Law
Society today.  Proposals recently put forward by the Home Office
would enable private companies and public bodies to swap
information about people they suspect of being involved in fraud
– even if those suspected have not been accused or convicted of a
crime.
