ILEX on Open Family Courts

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied Says ILEX
ILEX Press Release
14 November 2006
New proposals to allow the public and press greater access to
family court hearings could lead to painful delays for the
children and families concerned in these emotionally sensitive
cases, according to the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX).
ILEX believes that this would be unacceptable for those
personally involved in the 400,000 such cases occurring each
year, given that many of the individuals involved are likely to
be already experiencing stress and anxiety over their
circumstances.
