Honorary QC's Appointed

Queen's Counsel Honoris Causa in England & Wales, 2006
DCA Press Release
13 October 2006
Her Majesty The Queen has approved the appointment of six Queen's
Counsel honoris causa. The full list is given below.  These are
the first honorary QC appointments since the new interim scheme
in England & Wales was established. A small selection panel
chaired by Alex Allan, the Departmental Permanent Secretary,
considered nominations made by the legal professions, the
judiciary, and the Society of Legal Scholars, and made
recommendations to the Secretary of State for Constitutional
Affairs, Lord Falconer of Thoroton. As in previous years, the
honorary rank recognises lawyers who have made a major
contribution to the law of England & Wales outside practice in
the courts.
