Age Discrimination in the Workplace Outlawed

New laws coming into effect today will protect workers of all
ages from discrimination in the work place.  The Age
Discrimination regulations give important new rights and
responsibilities to every employee and business in Britain.

In a speech to the Third Age Employment Network, Lord Hunt of
Kings Heath called for support for the Age Discrimination
regulations introduced on Sunday.  He highlighted the proven
health benefits that being in work brings and stressed that this
legislation will ensure that older workers are not denied the
opportunity to increase their life expectancy while minimising
the risks of depression, obesity and poverty.
Again no mention of the EU!
